The Role
The Data Scientist plays a critical role in leveraging data to drive decision-making and strategic initiatives at National Grid.
What You'll Do
• Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate advanced analytical models and algorithms to solve complex business problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights
• Conduct data analysis and visualization to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
• Optimize data pipelines and data processes to support proper data governance standards, metadata standards, data collection, and pre-processing for high data quality
• Utilize machine learning techniques to enhance predictive capabilities and improve decision-making processes
• Communicate results to non-technical stakeholders across different levels and backgrounds
About You
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Preferred: Master's Degree in Data Science preferred
• Experience in data analysis, machine learning, or a related field
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL required
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, GIS) preferred
• Familiarity with Cloud big data technologies (e.g. Snowflake) is preferred
• Experience with Estimating-related software (e.g. Excel, SAP, PowerPlan, Sagebook, STORMS, ProjectWise, RISK) preferred
• Experience in the utility sector or related industries preferred
• Experience in estimating or related industries preferred
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques preferred
• Valid driver’s license required

Salary
$90,000 - $100,700 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
