What you'll do

 

This position has regional responsibility in Downstate, NY for ensuring operational reliability of National Grid’s electronic security systems under the supervision of the Security Technical Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include the followwing:

 

  • Actively manage suppliers to provide assurance that systems have the appropriate security patches deployed
  • Ensure that partners are aware of security patches released by vendors and that these are deployed in line with process
  • Manage identified vulnerabilities throughout their life cycle until they are mitigated or fed into risk management process
  • Produce regular management reports showing the current state of security in National Grid’s environment
  • Organize and chair multi-vendor forums to ensure that agreed actions are completed
  • Review suitability of supplier proposed mitigation plans
  • Produce metrics based on vulnerability remediation and patching
  • Maintain trackers

About you

 

  • Associates degree in related field with 2 years of related experience in repair and maintenance of electronic security systems, or related certifications with 5 years of demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic security systems
  • Experience with trouble shooting, servicing, maintaining & installing electronic access control, intrusion detection & video surveillance systems
  • VMS and CCTV camera experience
  • Access control installation experience (i.e. card readers, door contacts, REX)
  • Basic understating of networks (IP addresses, DNS names, pinging devices, Remote Desktop)
  • Experience with integrated security management systems & video management systems
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment. Must have a good working knowledge of the basic principles of electricity & solid-state electronics
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic and security system schematics
  • Good understanding of electronic system communication protocols, such as, TCP/IP, serial & parallel
  • Highly proficient knowledge of computers and computer applications
  • Strong planning and organizational skills

Salary

Dowstate NY $97,000 - $114,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
