National Grid is hiring a ServiceNow Engineer - This position is based from our Warwick office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.
Job Purpose
This position will act as a pivotal technical leader for the ServiceNow deployment, spearheading initiatives in AIOps, automation, and innovative solutions that align with business objectives across the enterprise. The Lead ServiceNow Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal design, implementation, and ongoing support of our ServiceNow platform. By leveraging advanced technologies and best practices, this role will drive operational excellence, enhance service delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to the overall success and efficiency of National Grid's IT service management.
What you'll do
Development & Integration:
- Implement scalable and secure solutions across ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM workflows.
- Design automation processes using JavaScript, APIs, and Flow Designer.
- Develop integrations with third-party platforms like Azure, CyberArk, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
- Manage Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
Governance & Operations:
- Adhere to platform governance, coding standards, and CI/CD processes.
- Lead ServiceNow upgrades and manage update set migrations.
- Define and monitor KPIs and dashboards using Performance Analytics.
- Oversee user access, platform security, and compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Mentor junior developers and administrators.
- Collaborate with Business Units, IT Security, HR, and Operations to align the platform with organizational IT roadmaps.
About you
- ServiceNow Certified
- Experience in ServiceNow engineering and solution delivery.
- Proven leadership in platform governance and architecture.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies is a plus.
- SAFe Agile Software Engineer.
- Expertise in ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM Suites, including CMDB configuration and administration.
- Experience with Discovery, Event Management, and AIOps.
- Strong understanding of integration techniques and hybrid/cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and document processes.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £80,000 - £90,000 – dependent on capability
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 40% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
