National Grid is hiring our Head of ET Stakeholder Management. This position can be based at NG House, Warwick or the Strand, London. 

About The Role

 

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for stakeholder engagement? Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Electricity Transmission at National Grid? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!


 
As the Head of ET Stakeholder Management, you will provide strategic leadership and direction within our Electricity Transmission business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive stakeholder management strategies as we deliver National Grid’s objectives and enhance our reputation in the industry.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Charge: Develop and implement stakeholder strategies that meet the unique needs of Energy Transmission as we head into the next 5 year regulatory period, aligning with National Grid’s wider corporate goals
  • Engage and Inspire: Lead your direct team and work through the wider business, to oversee delivery of our stakeholder engagement, ensuring our communication is clear and compelling, and gathering critical insights to help shape the decision we make as a business
  • Collaborate for Success: Bring the expertise of Corporate Affairs together with the operational and technical experience of ET, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance  
  • Monitor and Improve: Evaluate the effectiveness of stakeholder strategies and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for continuous improvement
  • Communicate Effectively: Prepare and present to senior management, summarising stakeholder management activities, insights and outcomes
  • Manage Resources Wisely: Oversee budgets and resources related to stakeholder management initiatives, ensuring we are delivering maximum value 

About You

 

  • Extensive experience in strategic stakeholder management or a related field, with a proven track record in leadership within the energy or utilities sector.
  • A strong understanding of corporate affairs principles, regulatory processes, and business dynamics relevant to the Electricity Transmission sector.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market trends and evaluate the impact of corporate affairs initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Knowledge of corporate social responsibility principles and practices related to corporate affairs.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms that support corporate affairs initiatives.

What You'll Get

 

  • Competitive Salary: circa £74,000 - £94,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience).
  • Bonus: up to 40%. On target 20%.

This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. 
 
We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be The Strand, London or Warwick, UK.
