Are you a high-performing individual eager to dive into the world of capital investment? Our Centre of Excellence team is at the forefront of National Grid Electricity Transmission’s (NGET’s) ambitious capital investment plan, investing up to £35bn in the next 5 years. We are looking for someone who is passionate about understanding NGET’s regulatory framework and how its various components function in practice.
As a Financial Analyst – Modelling, you will work closely with our business units, gaining invaluable insights into the strategic context that drives NGET’s operations. You will have the opportunity to contribute to key projects that are pivotal in our journey towards achieving net zero. You will support Finance Business Partners in making informed commercial decisions and your expertise in insight and analysis will be crucial in coordinating and modelling for business planning, while you partner directly with various departments and individuals within ET and regulation.
This role will be based out of our Warwick office, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide modelling and analysis to support Capital Planning, Strategic Business Plan, and Quarterly Rolling Forecast as well as insights into NGET’s regulatory and financial performance
- Collaborate with the business and regulatory teams to support price control submissions, including funding requests and optimisation against price controls.
- Assist in the transition to the T3 price control by updating models from the T2 price control and designing new models where required.
- Monitor the performance of investments, projects, and initiatives to ensure they meet expected outcomes.
- Gain a deep understanding of the regulatory framework and how ET generates revenue under the RIIO deal.
What You’ll Have:
- Qualified or near Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Strong Financial Modelling experience.
- Strong financial planning and analysis, forecasting, reporting and budgeting experience.
- Financial and Investment Appraisal experience.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Power BI experience.
- Ability to build relationships across the business and influence stakeholders.
- A self-starter with an inquisitive mindset, you like to understand the numbers.
- Detail orientated, analytical and problem-solving skills.

What You'll Get:
A competitive salary of £48,000 - £55,000– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
