National Grid is hiring a Documents & Drawings Assistant - This position can be based from our Warwick, Bristol or Derby offices. Hybrid Working model.
Job Purpose
As custodian of the Electricity Transmission documents and drawings, ensure there are accurate records which are maintained regularly and securely stored in an easily accessible database system that is available to ET. To work to ensure the continued integrity of existing documents and drawing records as well as ensuring that the future changes being delivered are also captured and delivered in line with relevant standards and policy
What you'll do
- Support the development of policies, procedures and specifications relating to the production, retention and management of documents and drawings.
- Act as custodian of Electricity Transmission documents and drawings, including change control management.
- Support with technical assistance and support in this area.
- Maintain processes and databases to international standards that meet the requirements of external auditors.
- Co-ordinate delivery of master drawings and technical records arising out of capital schemes and/or site managed projects
- Provide technical support to users on drawing, technical records and associated processes.
About you
Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management
- Demonstrated ability to manage the delivery of projects to time, cost, and specification.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, collaborating with ET and various external suppliers.
Technical or Specialist
- Knowledge of asset and work management processes used in documents and drawings within ET.
- Awareness of the assets associated with the electricity transmission system, with a good understanding of how documents and drawings are utilised across the business.
- Familiarity with the systems used for managing National Grid documents and master drawings, along with detailed knowledge of the functional requirements for such systems.
Experience
- Document control experience.
- Drawing control experience.
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is desirable.

A competitive salary around £40,000 – dependent on capability
