As Commissioning Lead, you’ll take commissioning switching programmes from operational sites and assess and check and approve them before handing over to the Control Room for implementation.  You’ll manage and co-ordinate all internal and external parties to ensure a safe, network secure commissioning strategy and sequence, on time and without adversely impacting other planned outputs. 

 

You’ll lead the operational technical comment on Commissioning Switching Programmes (CSPs), approving the switching strategy and sequence on behalf of the control room, resolving any issues relating to delivery of CSPs in the control room. 

 

Responsible for system security, safety and that customer supplies are maintained, you’ll be accountable for the production and distribution of operational documents required for operation in the control room and submission to the Electricity System Operator.

 

You’ll be based in Warwick for 2 days per week and you’ll be able to combine this with hybrid working from home. 

 

 

What you'll need

 

We’re looking for someone who has Control Engineer, Distribution Network Operator (DNO) control room, or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation, coupled with an excellent understanding of transmission network operation and basic analysis techniques.

 

You’ll ideally have a minimum of HNC in an engineering or STEM related subject, or equivalent experience.  You’ll also need an understanding of the transmission system safety issues and all relevant Procedures.

 

With the ability to work under pressure, remaining calm and focused on the task at hand, you’ll have good logical, analytic thinking and problem-solving skills.  In addition, you’ll have good written and verbal communication with decision making skills and the ability to work within tight timescales and make accurate assessments of multiple interdependent operational activities.
