National Grid is hiring a Service Release Manager - This position is based from our Warwick office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.

Job Purpose

Join us as the CNI Services Manager, where you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-notch technical support services that empower our employees and drive innovation! In this dynamic position, you'll ensure that our CNI systems, integral to the CNI IT Infrastructure, operate at peak performance, directly supporting the operational needs of the Electricity Transmission network. Your efforts will enhance safety, reliability and efficiency across the board.

As a key leader, you'll maintain strong service level agreements with our third-party partners, oversee seamless release management and actively contribute to shaping the long-term roadmap and strategy of the CNI Team. Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure fit-for-purpose and compliant solutions for all the critical national infrastructure projects by leading on the development of technical engineering standards and policy for all existing data and control centres.
  • Provide expert Tap Root incident investigation advice and support to relevant teams during incident investigations affecting Critical National Infrastructure, then ensure root causes of incidents affecting Critical National Infrastructure are identified and quickly communicated throughout National Grid and its supply chain.
  • Determine and implement appropriate methodologies for ensuring demonstrable compliance against legislative and technical standards as defined by the industry and key stakeholders within National Grid.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all Critical National Infrastructure projects by developing project briefs in conjunction with the sponsoring client for Critical National Infrastructure systems through the safe and successful delivery of the project.
  • Provide technical and building operational support by serving as subject matter expert to ensure all functions of critical national infrastructure are considered and protected.
  • Carry out routine assessments of plant and systems to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative and technical standards including risk scoring and management.
  • Undertake technical investigations of plant, system or process failure to produce detailed reports and recommendations.

About You

Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing and developing support teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing service level agreements and performance metrics.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using and developing ITSM tools and methodologies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Systems and Networks.
  • Familiarity with software release management processes and tools.

 

Knowledge:

  • IT Change management and governance.
  • Understanding of various release methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps and SRE).

 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders on an international level to ensure the successful operation and management of the CNI environment.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £55,000 - £75,000 – dependent on capability

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
