National Grid is hiring a Infrastructure Service Manager - This position is based from our Warwick office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.

Job Purpose

Join us as the IT Infrastructure Services Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the backbone of our organisation's technology landscape! Key Accountabilities

CNI Support

  • Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective 24x7 service delivery.
  • Develop and implement IT support policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of IT services through effective monitoring and change management.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to IT infrastructure.

 

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and execute comprehensive testing strategies to validate system functionality, ensuring all changes are thoroughly tested before deployment.

 

Roadmap Contribution:

  • Collaborate in the development of the strategic roadmap for the CNI Environment, identifying opportunities for enhancements and innovations.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for stakeholders regarding the CNI Environment, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

 

Training and Support:

  • Conduct regular training sessions for the support team to enhance technical skills and customer service capabilities

 

Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

About You

Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing and developing Infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing on prem IT Infrastructure in a secure environment

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using and developing ITSM tools and methodologies
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Systems and Networks.
  • Strong change management understanding
  • Strong security by design knowledge within the IT infrastructure environments.  

 

Knowledge:

  • IT Change management and governance
  • Understanding of various release methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps and SRE)

 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders on an international level to ensure the successful operation  and management of the CNI environment

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £60,000 - £80,000 – dependent on capability

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
