We’re currently looking for 2 Business Managers (Executive Advisors) for the Senior Leadership Team Directors within NGET.
Playing an integral role, you’ll be a pivotal part in shaping the environment for a key area of the business. You will directly support the leadership team, as well as our wide range of stakeholders. These unique roles are fast paced, varied, and provide a fantastic opportunity to shape what comes next whilst working across all parts of NGET and the broader National Grid group.
You will directly support the management of the day-to-day running of the business across a particular business area, driving planning, designing, and delivering initiatives that support the executive team. You’ll be responsible for the effectiveness of the leadership team’s operating rhythm, including setting up and driving key processes to get work done.
We’re looking for someone who is strategically minded and who is a self-starter. You’ll have experience with change management and the ability to lead projects and deliver effectively through others.
You will act as a trusted advisor, building credibility across the organisation to be able to lead through influence.
These roles provide an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of NGET, working closely with the leadership team and other members of the NGET Executive. They provide an excellent opportunity to further hone strong communication and influencing skills and to demonstrate delivery of results through varied and diverse teams.
These roles are based at our offices in Warwick and there will be the opportunity to combine with hybrid working from home.
What you'll need
We are looking for a self-starter who can who drive solutions. To be successful, you’ll need to see the big picture, be able to build strong networks throughout the business, using your stakeholder management and influencing skills, to ensure impact and delivery. You’ll have a strong track record in a current or previous role.
Project Management: Proven experience managing complex projects and engaging with senior leaders to deliver results.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside the ability to present clearly and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Governance: You understand risk and governance frameworks and have experience in supporting senior level decision making.
Delivery: You’ll have a strategic mindset with the ability to join the dots, connecting ideas and individuals to promote the delivery of business objectives.
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own workload, you’ll be an expert in influencing stakeholders effectively and confidently and be able to collaborate with team members and colleagues from across the business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with an aptitude for problem solving critical reasoning and big picture thinking are essential as is openness and flexibility to change, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and being comfortable with ambiguity.
Experience in a large, complex business, ideally within a regulated environment, coupled with an understanding of the Electricity transmission business and the energy sector in terms of structure, regulatory environment and the short- and long-term issues affecting the industry, would all be an advantage, but not essential.
You will also require a current driving licence.
