National Grid is hiring a Associate Asset Lifecycle Engineer    - This position can be based from our Warwick, Bristol or Derby offices. Hybrid Working model.

Job Purpose

 

To support the development of all aspects of HVDC asset lifecycle, including working in virtual teams, developing policies and technical standard, integrating new designs and technologies within the technical expertise of HVDC

What you'll do

 

  • Provide technical and asset management knowledge in the area of HVDC systems. 
  • Create and amend policies, technical specifications, work specifications, internal standards and technical guidance within the area of HVDC systems.
  • Support the development of virtual team working to take advantage of technology and methodology development within the area of HVDC systems.
  • Communicate standard issues associated within area of expertise in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Engage with suppliers to inform and influence end-to-end lifecycle management of HVDC assets (including type registration, operational & maintenance support, obsolescence management and refurbishment/replacement of HVDC assets.) 

About you

 

  • Ability to work under challenging deadlines.
  • Experienced in building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders.
  • Detailed technical understanding of one or more technical areas relevant to ET, including HVDC systems.
  • In-depth understanding of ET policies, procedures, Technical Specifications, Work Specifications, and Technical Guidance Notes in the area of expertise.
  • Familiarity with the ET Type Registration process.
  • Good understanding of National Grid’s regulatory regime.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Asset Management System, including business drivers and planning requirements.

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary around £47,000 - £60,000 – dependent on capability
