About You
- Proven track record in senior leadership within utilities, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industries.
- Deep knowledge of electricity transmission or related energy networks
- Strong understanding of asset management principles (ISO 55000 desirable) and lifecycle cost optimisation.

About The Role
The Director of Asset Management is accountable for the long-term stewardship, performance, and resilience of the electricity transmission network. This role ensures that NGET’s assets are managed safely, reliably, sustainably, and cost-effectively, delivering value for customers, stakeholders, and shareholders, while supporting the UK’s transition to a net zero energy system.

Our latest business plan proposes a two and a half times increase in the level of investment from the last five year to an unprecedented level of up to £35bn from April 2026 to March 2031. It includes baseline investment of over £11bn and pipeline investments of around £24bn, to maintain and upgrade our existing networks.
Role Accountabilities
- Develop and deliver the asset management strategy to optimise lifecycle investment, operation, and maintenance of the transmission network.
- Ensure alignment of asset plans with NGET’s regulatory commitments, customer expectations, and the UK’s energy transition objectives.
- Provide leadership in embedding innovation, digitalisation, and data-driven decision making into asset management practices.
- Oversee the monitoring, performance management, and optimisation of the electricity transmission asset base.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and industry standards including Ofgem, HSE, and international asset management best practice (e.g. ISO 55000).
- Lead development of the Network Asset Management Plan (NAMP) and long-term investment strategies to support RIIO and future regulatory price control submissions.
