We’re looking for an inspiring and hands-on Training Coordination Engineer to guide the next generation of Overhead Line (OHL) professionals. This is a brand-new and vital role that will shape how we train, develop, and authorise our workforce, ensuring that our teams not only meet but exceed the technical, safety, and operational standards expected across our network.

We are flexible on your base location as our role covers teams across England and Wales with a training centre based at Eakring, Notts, comes with a company car and hybrid working a mix of site, office and home.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop future training strategies.
- Manage the full trainee journey – from inception to authorisation.
- Coach, mentor, and support learning in line with NG policies and safety rules.
- Coordinate on-site training, mock assessments, and technical milestones.
- Collaborate with planners, managers, and SHES & Compliance to track progress and address any challenges.
- Act as a technical checkpoint for key training stages and final interviews.
- Maintain clear, accurate records of trainee development.
Requirements:
- A min HNC in a relevant discipline OR significant business experience within this field.
- Strong experience in training and competency ideally within an engineering or OHL setting.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organisation skills.
- Confident using MS Office and internal systems.
- Full UK driving licence (travel will be required).
- A commitment to safety, development, and helping others succeed.
Pay and Benefits
- A starting salary £54,090 to £65,000 pa + Bonus + Contribution Pension totalling up to 18% + Company Car.
- 37 hours Mon – Fri
- 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
