As a Stakeholder Groups Coordinator, you'll support the organisation and administration of the Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG) as well as other groups including the External Affairs Quarterly Project Review.

 

You will predominantly oversee the organisation of the main and sub-group meetings for the Stakeholder Advisory Group including diary invites, production of meeting packs, presentations and meeting summaries / minutes. The Stakeholder Advisory Group provides independent advice to National Grid on landscape, heritage, environment, nature recovery and marine and coastal issues relating to The Great Grid Upgrade.  

 

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. Some travel to attend meetings will be required. We have office hubs in London, Warwick and Leeds.

Key accountabilities

  • Act as Committee Manager for the Stakeholder Advisory Group. Help drive the work of the Stakeholder Advisory Group by undertaking central planning and coordination of the main group and sub-groups. Ensure compliance with governance processes.
  • Provide highly organised support. Plan and organise individual Stakeholder Advisory Group meetings / visits, including diary invites, meeting agendas, meeting packs and venues.
  • Maintain an annual calendar of meetings covering the national SAG meeting, Stakeholder Representative Groups for Wales, English regions (East Midlands, North of England, East of England) and thematic groups (Planning Reform, Marine & Coastal, Biodiversity and Community Outcomes).
  • Attend meetings of the Stakeholder Advisory Group including sub-groups – ensure the smooth operation of meetings, capture minutes and actions, produce and distribute timely meeting summaries and action lists.
  • Liaise with the chair of the Stakeholder Advisory Group, individual SAG members and external advisors / attendees as required.
  • Organise attendance by relevant National Grid colleagues at individual meetings and ensure attendees are briefed ahead of meetings and understand any presentation requirements.
  • Support the Strategic External Affairs Manager with strategic planning requirements in connection with the Stakeholder Advisory Group. Liaise and seek input from the Head of Stakeholder Management, Head of External Affairs – Wales and Head of External Affairs – English Regions.
  • Committee Manager for the External Affairs Quarterly Project Review meeting – organise meetings / meeting calendar, agenda and meeting packs, diary invites and meeting summary / actions tracker.

About you

  • Experience as a Parliamentary Committee Clerk, Local Authority Committee Clerk, Company Secretary of a small or medium-sized enterprise or event management for a trade association or agency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organisational skills: Provide a high quality secretariat / committee management service.
  • Excellent written communication: Skilled in writing briefing notes and preparing presentations. Able to confidently draft clear, succinct, professional emails and correspondence. Promote the use of plain English and can communicate technical concepts in an accessible way.
  • Governance and coordination skills: Experience in following committee governance processes and developing Committee Terms of Reference. Coordination includes tracking key deadlines, coordinating follow-ups, implementing actions trackers and financial administration.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills: Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, internal teams and external partners, building strong working relationships.

A competitive salary circa. £40,000 – dependent on capability.
