We are delivering the key onshore infrastructure needed to re-wire the UK to allow the country to deliver its Net Zero ambition. The incumbent will develop the commercial frameworks and contracts that will allow grids to be developed and built and deliver value both for the end consumer and the NG shareholder. 

 

The role has huge scope and potential and you will have the power to influence a lot of new infrastructure.

What you'll be getting up to?

 

 

  • Developing the end-to-end commercial strategy for individual onshore projects (enterprise and non-enterprise)
  • Working with and lead stakeholders and suppliers (including external Enterprise partners) to implement this strategy
  • Developing and maintaining key strategic relationships with OEMs and other suppliers as well as keeping abreast of their changing landscape
  • Implementing the best contract frameworks for all our projects, balancing the risks/opportunities
  • Proactively seek and pursue commercial and innovative opportunities
  • Working with the Great Grid Partnership to achieve positive commercial outcomes in projects via strong contract set up and formation.
  • Develop and own project commercial ‘health check’, monitoring and tracking the commercial and contractual risks across projects
  • Ensuring the commercial strategy is applied consistently across projects.
  • Business partner with PDs and SPMs on all commercial strategy, compliance and assurance
  • Develop and carry out proactive commercial audit and assurance activity

About you

 

 - Senior Commercial Manager with extensive contract management experience

 - Industry relevent experience within large infrastructure/construction, energy/utilities. 

 - Happy to travel to Birmingham office once a week and other ad hoc travel to various sites.

 - Knowledge of NEC/FIDIC contact is desirable.
