About the role

 

National Grid Grain LNG aims to be the foremost LNG importation terminal in the world, with a first-class team delivering high performance for its customers, communities and National Grid, through unparalleled safety, reliability and efficiency.

The terminal has hit a new utilisation record, exporting 102,589 GWh of gas over a twelve month period, the equivalent of almost 14 per cent of total GB gas demand.

 

We are currently recruiting for a OT Security Associate Technician to support the Cyber Operations Engineer to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of Grain LNG’s assets by securing the terminal’s operational technology (OT) infrastructure from internal and external threats.

 

 

The role will incorporate all aspects of security monitoring, threat intelligence, disaster recovery, vulnerability management and incident response, in line with NCSC NIS and site requirements.

 

 

The role is based on site at Grain and due to the location you will need to be able to drive there and must have a full clean licence.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Support in the configuration, baselining and tuning of OT cyber alerts for Grain LNG security products including network intrusion detection systems and security information and event management systems.
  • Assist with cyber security events at Grain LNG and provide support to incident response lead and internal/external parties.
  • Assist in disaster recovery efforts when responding to cyber incidents, this includes providing support to operational teams across Grain LNG
  • Support the sites threat intelligence capability and assess applicability to the sites OT equipment and draft information within a report for management.
  • Support vulnerability management lifecycle for operational equipment by performing threat hunts across the OT environment, assisting with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing with internal/external parties.
  • Support the asset management database for operational equipment, ensuring key security information is available to hand.
  • Work closely with Process, Customer Operations, Key Stakeholders and Contracting Partners to drive maximum efficiency through the delivery of the annual plan.
  • Ensure training needs are identified within your relevant area, to ensure you are competent and have the necessary flexibility to meet current and future workload requirements.
  • Assist with data recording to support accurate management and regulatory reporting KPI’s.

 

 

What you'll need

 

Supervisory/Interpersonal

 

  • An excellent communicator, making sure that information is understood by all individuals within and outside the team and able to tackle issues to give satisfactory resolution.
  • Ability to organise and plan work effectively. - Effective people management skills - Effective time management.

 

Technical

 

  • Awareness of industrial networking, common IT protocols (i.e. HTTPS, DNS, SSL etc.) and OT protocols (i.e. Modbus, Profibus, OPC etc.) fundamentals for industrial control and safety systems.
  • Awareness of Purdue architecture and its relationship with operational equipment. - Exposure to writing common scripting language such as Bash, PowerShell etc. Understanding of Security monitoring within critical national infrastructure (CNI) using technologies such as SIEM and IDS/IPS
  • Exposure to Microsoft and Linux operating systems

A competitive salary between £38,000- £41,000 per annum dependent on capability.
