We are looking for a Corporate Finance Manager to join our Group Treasury team to support the Corporate Finance Senior Managers, Head of Corporate Finance, Group Treasury and CFO by contributing to the development and implementation of National Grid’s group-wide long term financing strategy.
You will be supporting the day-to-day management of credit rating agency relationships, the execution of transactions (bank loans, investments, and project financing) and associated on-going compliance and administration of financial agreements, analysis of financial impacts of major decisions on the Groups key metrics and assisting on financial advisory on investment decisions (NG Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions), including implications for credit rating metrics.
This role will be based out of our London office (located at the Strand), and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
What You’ll Do:
- Produce financial information for Credit Rating Agencies and assist with credit rating reviews.
- Analyse financial impacts of major decisions on funding strategy, credit metrics, and M&A for senior management.
- Support Senior Managers as a business partner to M&A and National Grid Ventures, advising on funding sources and discount rates.
- Ensure compliance of financial agreements and coordinate with accounting, audit and tax teams.
- Advise business unit regulatory teams on Treasury financial parameters and Group impacts.
- Provide financial modelling and manage stakeholder engagement for transaction execution, considering tax and regulatory impacts.
- Analyse and recommend UK and US dividends and resource sufficiency, ensuring compliance with capital structure regulations.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulation teams and lenders.
- Develop strategies to enhance our ESG position for better funding opportunities.
What You'll Have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with significant financial experience.
- Knowledge of valuing transactions and their impact on cash, tax, and accounting, with input from regulatory and legal teams.
- Familiarity with regulated utility finance concepts (WACC, building blocks) and their impact on National Grid's revenue.
- Ability to connect with businesses, understand their needs, and prioritise multiple demands.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in summarising complex transactions for senior management and the Finance Committee.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with financial modelling experience in Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with sound judgement in financially impactful decisions.
- Experience in corporate finance, strategic financial planning, and economic valuation for capital-intensive investments.
- Transactional experience in project financing and JV structures, preferably in energy/infrastructure.
- Experience in financial business planning and credit rating methodologies.
- Proven track record of maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as investors or credit analysts.
