Land Development Support Officer x 3 (North, Central, South)

 

Location: Home Based (with office hubs in Leeds, Warwick and London)

As a Land Development Support Officer, you'll work as part of a team supporting the delivery of land rights, through the Use of NGET Land Process, for third party customers in England and Wales. You'll be part of a team providing a land rights service for National Grid. This will be in accordance with current legislation and guidance, best practice and procedure, to ensure National Grid adheres to its licence obligations.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to offices and project sites as required.  

Key accountabilities

  • Support in the delivery of new land rights – leases/easements/Interface agreements for third party customers.
  • Work with the supply chain on the disposal of land rights by adhering to the Use of NGET Land Process in a transparent, credible, consistent and economic way.  
  • Develop relationships and understand operational needs of the business to mitigate any concerns in relation to disposing of land rights.
  • Support Land Development Managers to get customer land rights agreed through the Use of NGET Land Process by gathering relevant technical, environmental and other relevant stakeholder information and reporting outcomes to support decision making.
  • Support Land Development Managers by building relationships with potential customers, tenants and purchasers.
  • Ensuring relevant internal records are kept up to date including customer tracker database, SharePoint, LANDCLAN (GIS mapping system) and Power BI reporting.
  • Support Land Development Managers in the preparation of Site Strategies to inform business decision making around delivering new infrastructure, customer land rights and property management outcomes.

About you

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills to ensure effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders.  
  • Some experience and/or knowledge of how to deliver land rights for third parties.
  • Some experience in working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams of internal staff and external firms to support delivery (engineering, legal etc.).
  • Some experience (or willingness to learn) of project management and contract management.
  • Good communication and organisation skills.
  • Some experience in land discussions with third party customers.  
  • Experience in producing high quality report writing through presenting detailed information in a clear and accessible way.
  • Basic understanding of the electricity transmission system.
  • Desirable - degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline and/or working towards AssocRICS or MRICS.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £42,000 - £48,000 – dependent on capability.
