About The Role

 

 

Brand New Permanent Role - Birmingham / London Offices - Hybrid Working

As Commercial Coordinator you'll provide coordination and support to drive commercial and consumer value across critical Strategic Infrastructure projects required to connect more clean, low-carbon power to the transmission network. These projects play a vital part in achieving the UK Government’s ambition of connecting 50GW of offshore wind by 2030.

As a key part of the Commercial, Regulation and Supply Chain team, within our Strategic Infrastructure business, you will be crucial in working with our commercial colleagues to coordinate our teams’ activities as we support the effective delivery of these critical projects.

Part of an immediate team of 6 and a wider partnership of 12 people, you'll be great at building relationships across National Grid and our 7 partnered organisations as part of the Great Grid Partnership

You will work alongside senior leaders in the business to help plan, monitor and coordinate the work needed to keep us on track with delivering our key objectives and ensuring all leaders understand where our workplan in the delivery process. You will also need be able to horizon scan and proactively identify risk to help our teams respond and stay on track by implementing mitigating actions.

 

This role is hybrid based using home and offices as appropriate. Our available main team offices are Birmingham and London, benefitting from easy train access.

Occassional trips to sites in Wales may be required therefore the ability to drive would be advantageous.

What You'll Do

 

 

 

Primarily you'll support with creating draft reports, meeting logistics, workshop content and drafting meeting notes in support of the senior leaders in the business unit. This includes capturing outputs allocating ownership of tasks and monitoring their completion.

You'll also plan activities, including setting deadlines, prioritising and ensuring ownership of actions and deliverables is clear across the team members. This includes taking ownership of delivering relevant actions.

 

Additionally you'll track stakeholder enggagement, ensuring the right people go to the right meetings, are aware of key messages and are reviewing the right deliverables.

You'll also help draft new and improve existing team policies and processes and monitor and track issues across project delivery teams.

You'll collaborate widely within our team and across projects to define, prioritising, and developing workplans to support us in achieving our objectives.

A competitive starting salary between £40,000 – £45,000 – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
